Nira Lev was born in Haifa, Israel in 1940. She studied art with Zvi Mairovich and Zeev Yaskil as well as Gordon College of Education, Haifa. She is influenced by Frida Kahlo and worked at the culture department in Haifa City Hall for 16 years.
