Shlomo Katz was boen in 1937 in Lodz, Poland. He immigrated to Israel after the Second World War and lived in Kibbutz Mishmar Haemek. After completing his military service he was offered a scholarship by his Kibbutz in order to study art at the Avni Institute of Art in Tel Aviv, Israel. He continued his studies at the Ecole Des Beaux Arts de Paris. Shlomo used to tell the stories of the Bible to his little daughter and then he began to paint them, thus he developed his paintings of the biblical theme.
